Generative Design and Digital Fabrication in Architecture - in practise
Proposal
We are in the process of developing a new course, based on the themes of recent Shape To Fabricaiton workshop. It will be open to students and professionals who would like to develop a specific research agenda within the field of digital design and fabrication. This will either be a postgraduate certificate (PgCert) 6 months or a 12 months graduate design programme (MArch). The program focuses on the development and construction of full scale prototypes using 6- axis robots, CNC machinery, experimental materials - all informed by analysis and simulation tools. Student projects will be lead by experienced industry tutors and regularly discussed with external guests and consultants, to bring industrial knowledge directly to everyone involved. Alongside this, a series of special sessions will take place: factory and building site visits, field trips, advanced skills workshops and direct engagement with sofware and hardware from various industries and fields of design.
The course is under development and open to your feedback. Please answer the questionnaire to help us.
